GUWAHATI: One more special train for the people of Northeast started this week. The weekly special train started running between Dr Ambedkar Nagar-Kamakhya – Dr Ambedkar Nagar with effect from October 15, 2020. Passengers from a vast part of Assam, North Bengal and Bihar can now avail the facility of this train to travel towards northern and western parts of the country with the introduction of this special train.

The 09305 Dr Ambedkar Nagar - Kamakhya – Dr Ambedkar Nagar weekly special will leave from Dr Ambedkar Nagar every Thursday at 12:45 hrs with effect from October 15 to reach Kamakhya at 18:00 hrs on Saturday. During return journey train no 09306 will leave Kamakhya at 05:35 hrs every Sunday with effect from October 18 to reach Dr Ambedkar Nagar at 06:05 hrs on Tuesday. This train will have 2nd AC, 3rd AC, Sleeper class and second class accommodations available.

During its both-way journey, this train will have stoppages at New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Alipurduar Jn. Hasimara, Binnaguri, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Katihar, Barauni Jn, Hajipur Jn, Ballia, Gazipur City, Varanashi Jn, Lucknow, Kanpur Central, Jhansi Jn, Bina Jn, Ujjain Jn and Indore Jn.

There will be no unreserved coaches in the train. Passengers must download Aarogya Setu App, and strictly observe social distancing both at the station and on trains. Wearing of face covers at the entry and during travel is a must. Only asymptomatic passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the Railway station/board the train.

It may be mentioned here that all regular passenger train services on Indian Railways including Premium trains, Mail/Express trains, Passenger trains services, Narrow gauge train services were suspended in the wake of COVID-19 since the last week of March.

The NFR (Northeast Frontier Railways) has already notified the running of 18 pairs of special trains.
