GUWAHATI: A meeting of the State BJP's (Bharatiya Janata Party) core committee was held at Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal's official residence in Guwahati on Friday to discuss the party's poll strategies and election management.

The meeting was attended by CM Sonowal, State BJP election incharge and Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, co-election incharge Jitendra Singh, State BJP organization incharge Baijayant Panda, national general secretary Dilip Saikia, State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass, NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma, MP Kamakhya Prasad were present, among others.

Addressing the media, Tomar said, "Various issues regarding the election were discussed during the meeting. We will contest the polls on the issues of peace, security and development. The BJP will again be voted back to power by the people due to its achievements. The BJP work has worked hard in Assam and has written a new chapter of development here."

Rajen Gohain said, "We had discussions about the upcoming meetings where different national leaders will attend including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh."

The core committee also directed the party to complete the election related works within the stipulated time.
