State BJP focusing on strengthening grass-root contacts

Guwahati, June 24: With the Lok Sabha polls slated for first part of 2019 and the panchayat polls scheduled to be held tentatively around September, the state BJP is already gearing up to put its best foot forward during the polls. Significantly, the BJP has already has completed 4 years of its tenure at the Centre and 2 years in the state.

Presently, with a view to getting feed backs from the people on the work the governments at the Centre and in the State have done, the party workers are visiting the villages and interacting with the people. During his visit to the state recently, the National BJP president Amit Shah asked at the core meeting of the party if contacts have been established with 25 lakh workers of the party in the state. He also asked about the views of the public in respect of the work by the BJP Governments.

In the meantime, the state BJP has extended its ‘janasamparka abhiyan’ till June 30 and henceforth the mission would be carried out in the rural areas also. During the abhiyan, the person contacted is provided with an account of the performance by the two governments.

Again as per a directive from the BJP central committee, on June 26 the State BJP will organize press meets at 38 district bodies and provide an account of the performance of the governments hitherto. The press meets will be addressed by the BJP leaders who have been entrusted with the duty task of supervising the Panchayat and Lok Sabha polls.

In Guwahati the press meet will be addressed by state BJP chief Ranjit Dass and will be attended by DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh.
