State BJP Mourns Death of Former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj

GUWAHATI: The State BJP condoled the death of former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj at meet at its party headquarters here on Wednesday. State BJP president Ranjeet Kr Dass presided over the meeting and said, “In her death, the country has lost an eminent leader who was out and out a true nationalist. Sushma Swaraj was a politician whose humanitarian values made her a national leader.” Ministers Ranjit Dutta, Pijyush Hazarika, Ex MP Bijoya Chakraborty, BJP national secretary Ramen Deka, among others were present during the meet. Ramen Deka said, “Sushma Swaraj was a strong lady with very good oratory skills, yet she was very polite. She also maintained very good relation across all the political parties. Her death ‘is an irreparable loss to the nation. She was an impressive parliamentarian and an ideal woman who showcased excellence at every front. She also earned a good name as an extra ordinary minister for external affairs.” Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary has also deeply condoled the demise of Swaraj.

Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi condoled the sudden demise of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj who passed away on Tuesday.

In his condolence message, Prof Mukhi termed Swaraj, a towering personality and a powerful voice who had played a crucial role for championing the cause of the poor and under-privileged.

Prof Mukhi also said that her sagacity and leadership as the former Chief Minister of Delhi and cabinet ministers of the country have been a source of inspiration and guidance to many.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also condoled the untimely demise of former union minister Sushma Swaraj. In a statement, Chief Minister Sonowal said, “I mourn the death of former union minister Sushma Swaraj as her death marks the end of a glorious chapter in Indian political system”.
