Students throng  Guwahati International Film Festival (GIFF)-2018 in search of dream

GUWAHATI: Apart from national and international filmmakers, professional and amateurs, their cast and crew members, the 2nd Guwahati International Film Festival (GIFF) 2018 has become a destination for hundreds of students to find a dream.

On Monday, more than thousands of students from various schools, colleges and universities from across the state have thronged the GIFF-2018 premises at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra to attend the inauguration of the ASEAN premiere of the GIFF-2018.

Talking to The Sentinel, Swapna Mandal, a BA 5th semester student of Jawaharlal Nehru College located at Boko said, “We have earned a thrilling experience visiting here. The cinemas we have watched today motivated us a lot. It will encourage us to nurture a new dream, new path of career in our life.”

Swapna’s colleagues, Amiya Biswas, Rashmi Sharma and Sunandana Das, who are also students BA 5th semester at Jawaharlal Nehru College said, “We have captured a lot. We did not have a dream earlier. The cinemas that were screened today will motivate us in bringing certain rectifications even in our real lives. It has simply ignited our innocent mind.

Notably, like other academic institutions, altogether 25 students of Jawaharlal Nehru College guided by a Professor have visited the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra premises on Friday to get the thrilling experience of GIFF-2108.

Sharing her experience with The Sentinel, Pranami Das, a Tezpur University student said, “For me, photography is a long cherished dream. This festival has given me a great opportunity to interact with a number of international cinematographer. Eventually, I have renewed my dream on photography. A larger picture of my future career is closely visible now.”
