Swarnalipi Organizes Webinar on Public Policy & Administration

GUWAHATI: "People-oriented policy, commitment and economic as well as administrative reformations can only realize the Chief Minister's dream Assam for which every citizen must positively act with responsible mentality with a goal to achieve all-round development," said Professor Dr. Jyoti Prasad Saikia while inaugurating a webinar on 'Public policy, administration & CM's dream Assam'.

The webinar was organized by literary and socio-cultural research magazine Swarnalipi, in association with Asia Foundation.

The webinar, held to deliver effective suggestions from the educated and intellectual community to the new government of the State, focused some special highlights of the priorities, policies and implementation procedures of the government for the realistic and concrete development of the State in various fields, stated a release.

While delivering the talk, eminent educationist Dr Jayanta Krishna Sarma, Professor of Political Science, Gauhati University, emphasized that the new government, instead of stereotype systems, must work to bring about reformations like a culture of working at least 8 hours all over, empowerment to the people's participation, credibility upon citizenship, ensuring commitment to the efficiency and responsibility from the grassroots level in a legalized manner.

Sahitya Akademi award-winning writer Jayanta Madhab Bora said that the new education system must fulfil the needs both of the online and offline modes for rural as well as urban learners in primary and secondary levels and not only in government institutions, but also in private institutions.

Citing various instances of the poor, rigorous and pathetic status of the Indian health sector, Dr Ankuran Dutta, Head, Department of Communication & Journalism, Gauhati University said that the new government must ensure a properly relevant health policy for the safeguard of health workers and doctors, for the rights and responsibility of the patients and guardians and the charges of private hospitals in a legally acceptable manner.

The webinar was conducted by Hridayananda Gogoi, Editor of Swarnalipi while chairing the session renowned intellectual Sahityacharya Professor Dr Parag Kumar Bhattacharyya said that the outcome of the webinar would extensively fulfil many of the requirements of the government to run an effective administration for the people and its land despite pandemic turmoil. The suggestions of eminent individuals, scholars, researchers of the webinar will be submitted soon to the government for necessary concerns and further action, stated Dhoritry Goswami Deka, publicity secretary of Swarnalipi in a release.
