Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad Slams BJP For Not Keeping Promises

GUWAHATI: The Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad; Assam along with 6 communities of Assam and Ahom Janagusti have raged an outcry against the ruling government for not holding strong against their promise.

Publicity Secretary of the Parishad, Gunakanta Gogoi protested that the BJP failed to uphold their assurance. “If BJP wins in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, it will all be owed to a lie. Within the next two months, if the government does not grant ST status to the 6 communities of Assam and Ahom Janagusti, then we will ensure that the BJP does not emerge victorious. If required, we will call upon all the houses of the state and campaign against the saffron party.”

Gogoi recalled how before the previous election, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had guaranteed to resolve unemployment, issues of illegal immigrants, among others, however, the same was not observed in reality. “Even AGP fell short on the expectations of the indigenous and toyed with the feeling of the Assamese people.”

The Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad requested the people of Assam to cast their votes wisely, “Every community should vote only for that party they deem likely to fulfill their requirements.”
