GUWAHATI: Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha, has called a strike on all tea gardens of the Brahmaputra Valley on January 8. The strike is in support of the 10 Trade Union protest on January 8 and 9. The Trade Union’s common forum will hold an all India protest against the anti-labour treatment by the centre. The 10 Trade Unions include INT, UCK, etc who have raised a few demands in consent of labour rights. Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha has said that the demands of the Trade Union also holds tea garden demands such as implementation of Plantation Labour Act, increase of wage, re-opening of closed down tea gardens, resolution of labour problems, etc. In view of the fulfillment of these Trade Union demands, the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha has decided to hold the strike.
