 GUWAHATI: A transgender tea stall was opened at Guwahati Railway Station on Friday, which will be fully managed by the transgender community. Anshul Gupta, general manager of Northeast Frontier Railway, inaugurated the "trans tea stall" at platform number one of the Guwahati railway station in the presence of Swati Bidhan Baruah, associate vice chairman of the Transgender Welfare Board of Assam.

During the inaugural ceremony, Anshul Gupta said that the NFR has taken the initiative for the empowerment of transgender people. He further said that this initiative is the first of its kind in the NFR as well as in Indian Railways. Swati Bidhan Baruah expressed her immense pleasure over the initiative taken by NFR, stated a press release.
