GUWAHATI: The All-Assam TET Qualified Committee (AATQC) has alleged anomalies in the recently published lists of lower primary (LP) and upper primary (UP) regular teachers.

The Committee has written an open letter to the State Education Minister and the Education Department urging their intervention to avoid further anomalies.

In their letter, the Committee pointed out that the list of regular teachers published online by the Directorate of Elementary Education, Kahilipara on December 10, 2020 contains several ineligible candidates.

"There are several candidates being (shown as) qualified in the previous list of regular appointments published in August last, got their names enlisted in the presently published list and thus creating (leaving) no room for new aspirants," the Committee alleged.

Further, the committee stated in the letter that around 400 candidates presently working for the Department in different schools also got their names enlisted. This means that they're eligible for the ongoing recruitment drive and because of which there will be no room for the new aspirants, it added.

"There are names of some candidates having applied to the same district for the same post appeared twice in the same list and that's also with the same TET Roll No. and same cumulative percentage of marks," the Committee stated.

It alleged that some candidates with undue and unscrupulous advantages were placed in the list despite getting less marks from many candidates of the same category.

The Committee also requested the Minister to declare the list of all eligible Secondary TET Qualified Teachers for the ongoing recruitment drive of secondary schools all over Assam.

"Some secondary school TET passed candidates were enlisted in the present LP/UP Primary Teachers' list as they have been in the possession of Primary and Secondary TET Qualification simultaneously. There will be room for Primary Teachers in the LP/UP Primary level if the results are declared for the Secondary Schools," the AATQC stated.

It also urged the Minister to fill all the vacant positions to be created in the SSA (Sarba Siksha Abhiyan), Assam after due finalization of the lists of Regular Recruitment of Teachers under Directorate of Elementary Education, Assam.
