Theatre group stages street drama on yoga in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: As a part of the 16th Yoga Festival, a theatre group under the initiative of Indian Yoga Culture and Yoga Treatment Centre, Maligoan Guwahati, performed street plays of yoga awareness at ten crowded places - Guwahati Railway Station, Dighali Pukhuripar, Cotton University, Meghdoot Bhawan, and Chandmari Engineering College - in Guwahati today.

Yoga trainer Papri Gogoi, the playwright of Batar Natak, was present. She appealed to the people to practise yoga. Yogacharya Subhasish Kar, founder and president of The Indian Centre for Yoga Culture and Yoga Treatment, and Yoga Therapist Chikta Kar of Gauhati Medical College were present. They encouraged the theatre group.

Actress Rupali Talukdar Baruah's impeccable performance makes the play interesting. Advocate Gautam Patowary, secretary of the 6th Assam Yoga Festival, Yoga Promotion Award winner Arundhati Talukdar, yoga pracharak and yoga sadhana award winner Dhananjay Talukdar acted in the street dramas of Mandira Ghosh.
