A three-day workshop on telescope making will be organized by Guwahati Planetarium for the students of higher secondary and above levels at the Planetarium premises from October 14 to 16.

 GUWAHATI: A three-day workshop on telescope making will be organized by Guwahati Planetarium for the students of higher secondary and above levels at the Planetarium premises from October 14 to 16. The workshop is jointly organised by the Assam Science, Technology, and Environment Council (ASTEC) and Guwahati Planetarium under the Science, Technology, and Climate Change Department, Government of Assam.

The workshop intends to motivate the students to observe the night sky through telescopes. Participants in a group of two will make individual reflecting telescopes of their own during the workshop. The selection of participants for the workshop will be done on a first-cum-first-served basis, with up to 20 participants.

Interested students are requested to send their applications with biodata to tmw.gp2022@gmail.com or by visiting the Planetarium Office during office hours, stated a press release.
