STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI: Acting on a tip-off, Forest Department personnel of Narengi Beat office under the Guwahati Range on Wednesday arrested three persons - Shyam Chandra Ray (35), Mohhamed Sahil and Arman Parmanik - from the Highland Enclave at Mathgharia here on the charge of killing a barking deer for consumption.

The carcass of the barking deer was found packed inside an empty bag of white cement from the building in question. Ray had apparently killed the deer with the other two accomplices.
