Three suspected Nigerians detained in Karimganj district

GUWAHATI: Three suspected Nigerians — NNAMDI BERNARD NWALI, PRINCE PAUL and EZE COLLINS — were detained on Wednesday from Churaibari Check Point on NH-8 under Bazaricherra PS in Karimganj district. The three boarded a Guwahati-bound Maruti van (TR-01H-0206). During interrogation they said that they had entered India through Bangladesh via Tripura. They could not produce any valid passports/documents for their entry into India. In this regard a case has been registered against them (116/2020 U/S 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946 r/w Section 6 of the Passport ( Entry in to India) Rules, 1950) in Bazaricherra PS, a press release said.
