Tinsukia Killings: AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal blames it on Chief Minister

GUWAHATI: AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal has said that the mysterious silence on the part of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who did pledge to move forward by all taking communities and ethnic groups of the State together, has led to the killing on the five innocent people at Dhola in Tinsukia district on Thursday.

In a statement issued to the press on Friday, Ajmal said: “All parties and organizations have been opposing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. However, the BJP and the government have been supporting the Bill, and creating a communally charged atmosphere in the State. The Chief Minister has also failed to rein in on a section of BJP leaders, right from the State party president, who makes provocative statements. Such statements have led to the killing. It’s because of such people all Bengali-speaking people of Assam have been tagged as Bangladeshis.”

Ajmal has demanded a judicial inquiry into the killing and making those involved in the killing public.
