Truck loaded with rice seized, two arrested by Assam Police

GUWAHATI: The police caught a truck (AS-01/EC-0287) loaded with 410 bags of rice and apprehended two persons – Md. Jalilur Rahman and Md. Jiarul Islam, both of Goalpara – this morning. The truck was bound for Jorhat from Chhaygaon. On interrogation it has been found that the rice bags were suspected to be of PDS rice. The two apprehended persons were unable to produce any relevant documents in respect of the loaded rice bags. In this regards a case has been registered.
