GUWAHATI: The broadsides via tweets between Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal continued on Friday, with each daring the other to take stock of development works in their respective states.

Sarma tweeted today: "When you are in Assam, which you so desperately wish to, I will take you to our medical colleges, thousand times better than your Mohalla Clinics. Also meet our bright government school teachers and students."

Earlier today, Arvind Kejriwal had responded to Sarma's comparison regarding the number of schools in Delhi and Assam and tweeted: "You have taken offence. My intention was not to find fault. We are citizens of the same country and have a lot to learn from each other. That is when India will become the No 1 country (in the world). I will come to Assam, let me know when I should come. You show me the good works in your education sector and you come to Delhi and I'll show you the developmental activities here."

Reacting to this, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted: "Your ignorance is painful. Let me help you. Assam is 50 times bigger than Delhi. Our 44,521 government schools teach 65 lakh students – against your 1,000+ odd schools. Our army of dedicated teachers number 2+lakh, Midday meal workers 1.18 lakh. Fathom it."

He further tweeted: "We impart education in six mediums including 14 different tribal languages. Our diversity is something that we are proud of, cherish and ensure it thrives through our unique education system. And yes, we do not have resources like that in Delhi. We are proud of what we've and do!"

Sarma concluded with a tweet in Hindi: "You don't have to worry about making India No1. That is being done by Modi ji."
