Two Greater Adjutant Storks dead at Boragaon, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Two Greater Adjutant storks, an endangered species, were found dead in the Deepor Beel part of Belor Ali dumping ground at Boragaon, Guwahati on Friday.

The reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained even though it is common knowledge that toxic effluents from the Boragaon landfill site have been mixing up with the water of Deepor Beel, an ecologically sensitive zone, a Ramsar site and a home to several rare and endangered species.
