Two held with 500 gm heroin in Guwahati, cash seized
Two drug traffickers were arrested in the city and 500 gm heroin were seized from their possession.

GUWAHATI: Two drug traffickers were arrested in the city and 500 gm heroin were seized from their possession.
Police authorities said that while investigating a case (571/2021) registered under Chandmari PS on Saturday in which four people were arrested and heroin was recovered, Central Guwahati Police District Special Squad and Chandmari Police conducted operation through Saturday night till Sunday morning to nab more drug traffickers.
The operation led to the arrest of Karan Das (23), son of Tinkumoni Das, resident of Jyotikuchi. He was arrested near Sankar Hotel in the Fatasil Ambari area. Police recovered 23 packets of heroin and Rs 7,05,860 cash from his possession. The team also apprehended Sargam Das (28), son of Binoy Das, resident of Panjabari Batahghuli under Satgaon PS, and recovered another 12 packets of heroin along with Rs 12,000 from his possession.
One Kwid car (AS01DW 6046) was also recovered. The 35 recovered packets of heroin weigh approximately 500 gm, which is worth Rs 3.5 crore in the international market.
