Two other SI scam accused arrested by Criminal Investigation Department

GUWAHATI: Rubul Hazarika, another prime accused in the SI recruitment scam was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) from Nalbari district on Friday.

Following arrest, Hazarika was brought to Guwahati and is being interrogated by the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for law and order GP Singh.

According to sources, Hazarika is associated with Akshay Telecommunications, the company who received the sub contract to conduct the examinations. He also knows accused PK Dutta for last 10 years, a source added.

Meanwhile, another prime accused of the scam, Suraj Sarma was arrested from Guwahati Airport. The sources stated that Sarma is also associated with Akshay Telecommunications and after news of the paper leak surfaced he went to Rajasthan to evade arrest. Sarma arrived in Guwahati to surrender, a source added.

The CID stated that various other persons are involved in the scam and the further investigation is on.

A total of 5 teams of the CID are conducting the investigation.
