Uttar Pradesh youth with fake PRC of Assam nabbed

GUWAHATI: A section of residents of the 9th Mile area on Wednesday apprehended a youth from Uttar Pradesh who had come to appear in a recruitment examination of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) with a fake Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) of Assam.

The youth, identified as Shivam Yadav, was handed over to the Jorabat police. The Jorabat police later handed over the youth to the Paltanbazar police. It is pertinent to mention in this context that a Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) team from the Paltanbazar Police Station had recently busted a fake caste certificate and PRC racket and had arrested Munna Sharma and Vijay Shankar Yadav, both from Ballia in Uttar Pradesh, while they were trying to sell fake caste certificates and PRCs to aspirants of a CISF recruitment exam. Around 15 fake seals of different Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) and some fake documents had been seized from their possession.
