Vehicle Stolen In The Parking Lot of Basistha

GUWAHATI: A vehicle (TS 08 UD 5403), owned by Sayed Akram of Telangana went missing after he handed the keys and documents to one Khan. Akram had parked his Container in the parking lot of Basistha here in the city but had to rush back home on an urgent basis. He entrusted the safety of the vehicle on Khan but upon his return on January 21, Khan could not be found.

Akram lodged an FIR (87 / 19 U/S 406 / 420) at Basistha police station. Upon his own enquiry, he reached Silchar and found a broken part of his Container in a garage. The number plate had been changed to (AS 25 BC 4125). Akram informed Basistha police who managed to capture one Jiban Singha from Cachar, who brought the vehicle to the garage upon the orders of Khan. Singha has been brought to Guwahati and produced before CJM court. He has been taken into judicial custody. However, no trace of Khan has been found.
