Veteran Film Director Erik Khok Conferred with Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Award

GUWAHATI: Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) conferred the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika International Coordination Award 2018 on veteran film director Eric Khok on August 21 at E-Flyer auditorium in Singapore. To present the award, a team of AXX under the guidance of AXX president Paramananda Rajbongshi, flew to Singapore.

Indian High Commissioner at Singapore Javed Ashraf along with Rajbongshi, presented the award to Eric Khok. In his speech of gratitude, Erik Khok said that he would venture into Assam and explore the land for his future film shoots.

It is to be noted that the award was supposed to be presented here in the city, however, Khok had been shooting since the past four months at Singapore and humbly requested the AXX team if they could honour him at the foreign location instead. Upon his appeal, the AXX team, in association with the AXX Singapore branch and the Singapore Assam Association, organized the event at Singapore.

Numaligarh NRL sponsored the prize money of Rs 5 lakh, presented to Erik Khok. The award also contained a citation, a memorandum and an anga-bastra.
