GUWAHATI: The water level of the river Brahmaputra in Guwahati is rising and it may cross the danger level very soon.

According to the Central Water Commission (CWC), the water level started rising on June 17 when it was recorded 48.00 meters at 2 pm. The level increased to 49.00 meters at 9 am on June 22 and on June 23, the level was recorded 49.03 meter at 6 am. On the same day, the level raised by 1 cm more and it was recorded 49.04 at 1 pm.

As informed by the CWC, from June 23, the level has remained at a constant level till 6 pm on Tuesday. It is to be mentioned that the danger of the Brahmaputra River starts from 49.68 meter. Thus, if the level rises 64 cms more then it will cross the danger level.
