Water-logging plagues Guwahati after heavy rainfall

GUWAHATI: A spell of rain has exposed how effective GMC's (Guwahati Municipal Corporation) cleaning of choked drains in Guwahati. The city witnessed water-logging in many an area on Monday.

Areas like Chandmari, Sipukhuri, RG Baruah Road, GS Road, a portion of Beltola, Maligaon and many other areas in the city witnessed water-logging.

Though it is not the prime time of monsoon, yet a spell of rain has left Guwahati water-logged. Today's scene of the city is a real eye-opener for planners on the city. They need to rack their brains if the planning with which they carry on infrastructure development in the city can solve the whole lot of problems that afflict the city.
