Wives of former ADC Saibar Rahman get bail

GUWAHATI: The Court of the Special Judge, Guwahati, granted bail to the two wives - Minakshi Rahman and Dewan Shahnaj Khatun - of Saibar Rahman.
Minakshi Rahman and Dewan Shahnaj Khatun's names appeared in the charge sheet submitted to the court by the Chief Minister's Special Vigilance Cell. The investigators, however, did not arrest the duo. The judge said, "As the investigating officer did not arrest the accused persons during the investigation, completed the investigation and submitted charge sheet; I find no justifiable ground to reject their bail petition."
The Chief Minister's Special Vigilance Cell arrested former ADC Saibar Rahman in 2021 in a few cases relating to owning property disproportionate to his known sources of income.
