Woman attempt to commit suicide in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Dispur police rescued a young woman after she attempted to commit suicide in her at her partner's room in Panjabari here on Thursday.

Police sources said that the identity of the woman, who hails from the East Garo Hills in Meghalaya, has not been ascertained as yet.

The police is investigating the incident and the woman's partner has been detained for interrogation, the sources added.

Earlier last week, a lover committed suicide after allegedly stabbing his partner in Teok. Following the stabbing incident, the girl was immediately rushed to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) in a critical condition.
