Woman succumbs to burn injuries in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Sept 26: A 27-year-old woman of Bijuli Nagar under Narengi Forest Gate area succumbed to her burn injuries on Wednesday. According to police source, the victim, identified as Lakhsmi Thapa, wife of Raju Thapa, was the mother of three children. Lakhsmi had received severe burn injuries on Tuesday, when her clothes caught fire while she was working in the kitchen. Though Lakhsmi along with her children could douse the flames, she was not rushed to hospital right after the accident. The source further added that she was rushed to hospital only on Wednesday morning. However, she breathed her last on the way.
