GUWAHATI: On the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India recognized the contributions of women in the field of entrepreneurship. The Ministry felicitated 25 women entrepreneurs across the country to recognize their achievements in the field of entrepreneurship by providing with appreciation certificates during an event held in New Delhi.

In this event five women entrepreneurs from the Northeastern region under the aegis of Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) were also felicitated with recognition certificates by Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey – the Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. These five women entrepreneurs who underwent skill training and business mentoring and guidance from IIE participated in the event through video conference and got the chance to interact with the Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship along with fellow women entrepreneurs from other parts of the country.

The five women entrepreneurs under IIE were recognized for their indomitable spirit to carve a place for themselves in different sectors of entrepreneurship. The five women are Mitali G Dutta (Food Sutra by Mitali) in cooking and baking from Assam; Lozano Humtsoe (Nungshiba Handicrafts) in handicraft from Nagaland; Bharati Aribam (Hills Land Eduventures) in edu tech from Manipur; Nazia Sultana (Her Story) in handicrafts from Assam and Urmi Julie Saikia (Golden Moms) in cooking and baking from Assam. They were all given certificates of appreciation to recognize their hard work, achievements and perseverance in the entrepreneurship domain. This recognition has been a great motivation to the women entrepreneurs and IIE takes pride that the institute's initiatives in promoting women entrepreneurship in the North East Region (NER) has borne fruits, stated a release.
