"World Consumer Rights Day" Celebrated By PNB Guwahati Zonal Office

Guwahati: World Consumer Day is celebrated every year on March 15 to mark the sovereignty and supremacy of the rights and needs of the consumers and highlights their unqualified claim to fair and just treatment.

The underlying theme of this year is "Fair Digital Finance" and the Bank strives to leverage its digital platforms to meet and satisfy the diverse financial needs of its customers while at the same time committing itself to protect and uphold their interests at all times.

The Bank celebrated World Consumer Rights Day nationwide through its different branches and offices throughout the country. In this line, the PNB Guwahati Zonal office also observed this day by organizing a Customers' Meet at Hotel Taj Vivanta which was chaired by Zonal Manager & General Manager Shio Shankar Singh.

Singh welcomed the gathering with his opening remarks and felicitated all the customers and dignitaries attending the meeting. In his speech, he addressed the gathering where he underlined the importance of rendering prompt and responsive customer service by reaching out to all segments of the populace including the most vulnerable.

He also underscored the internal message of respected MD & CEO of PNB, Atul Kumar Goel to all its employees to place the interests of the customers first and try to fulfil their aspirations and needs in all the activities and endeavours undertaken by the bank, be it launching of a new product/service or rendering routine service to them.

In the event, a PowerPoint presentation on Customer's Rights and Digital Finance was presented by Shri Rajesh Kumar, AGM, PNB Guwahati Zonal Office to highlight some of the very important points of the customers' rights and needs and also displayed different digital tools available with the bank for ease of doing Banking for the customers of PNB. Deputy Zonal Head & DGM of PNB Guwahati Zone Shri Rajendra Singh also kept his views on the rights of the customers on this occasion.

Customers attending the meet from different sectors also expressed their views and ideas for the betterment of the Banking services at different levels which was prominently noted by the bank authorities present there for future implementation.

The celebration ended with the vote of thanks by Circle Head of PNB Guwahati Circle Nirendra Kumar.
