World Diabetes Day marathon held in Guwahati

Guwahati: The Run Guwahati marathon was held in association with Hayat Hospital in Guwahati today on the occasion of World Diabetes Day. The marathon began from the Veterinary College ground at Khanapara and ended at the Janata Bhawan, Dispur. Almost 1,000 people turned up for the run in a bid to raise awareness on diabetes among the people and also to spread the message of staying fit and healthy. Popular Assamese film actress Barsha Rani Bishaya and former Mr Universe Mahadev Deka also took part in the run. SBI GM, Hayat Hospital CEO Rajib Saikia, Medical Director Dr Hemjit Talukdar, Medical Superintendent Dr Nasimur Riaz and Director Dr Bishnu Kr Deka also participated in the run, among others, as per a communique.
