GUWAHATI: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal visited the Asom Grantha Mela in Guwahati on Thursday and took a look around various book stalls at the fair. The Assam Book Fair is being organized by the Publication Board Assam and All Assam Publishers' and Booksellers' Association at the AEI Playground in Chandmari. The Union Minister bought several books and also interacted with booklovers and students.

Expressing his happiness on the occasion, the Union Minister said that books are the symbols of identity of a community and society. "The young generation must inculcate the habit of reading books daily. On this New Year, let us make the resolution to together bring a Book Revolution," the Minister stated.

Secretary general of Publication Board Assam, Pramod Kalita, Children's Literature Trust, Assam secretary Hrishikesh Goswami were present on the occasion.
