GUWAHATI, August 31: The BJP-led government at Dispur has failed to live up to the expectations of the people of the State in its first 100 days.

In a statement issued to the press today, AUIDF organization general secretary-cum-AIUDFLP leader Hafis Basir Ahmed Kashimi said: “The party came to power with floods of assurances, but failed to live up to the expectations of the people of the State in the first 100 days. In the past 100 days, the government failed to give anything to the people of the State other than sweet speeches. Food and Civil Supplies, PWD, Irrigation, Water Resources, PHE, Transportation etc., departments failed to do any tangible works in the first 100 days. On the contrary, going against the wishes of the people of the State the government went ahead with oil field auction, kept mum at the process of handing over Assam land to Bangladesh, prices skyrocketed, failed to help flood-affected people, crimes taking place, rhino killings going ubated, etc. Teachers had to opt to suicide for denied justice. The government took a number of luxurious schemes. To make them really happen, the government has to take tangible measures.”
