127 fish and meat shops evicted

GUWAHATI, June 3: Kamrup Metro District Administration today took up initiatives to evict unhygienic and uuthorized fish and meat sellers on the footpath of Guwahati under the instruction of Additiol Chief Secretary MGKV Bhanu.

Several areas of the city like Birubari, Ulubari, Charapbhati, Lal Ganesh, Udalbakra, Dhiren Para, Bhutth, Bharalumukh, Sixmile, Barbari have been covered in the eviction operation.

SDO Civil ND Patowari, Rahul Das and Circle Officers of Guwahati and Dispur – D Barman and R. Konwar – led the operation in their respective areas. 127 fish and meat shops were evicted today.  

An incident took place while SDO Civil N.D. Patowari led a team in the Birubari area of the city. Some miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons.

In this regard a meeting was held at the Conference Hall of DC Office, Kamrup (M) under the Chairmanship of DDC Barli Sharma that condemned the attack on the officer. The meeting has decided to take strategically harsh action against the illegal, unhygienic and uuthorized fish and meat sellers of the city.

Two teams have been set up for this operation in coming days and asked wholehearted support from all line departments in this regard.
