15 hurt in accident

AZARA, March 2: Fifteen members of a marriage party, including the groom, sustained injuries in a road accident near the Air Force Gate on NH 37 last night needing 12 of them to be admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). According to the police, the  marriage team boarded in a Winger (AS01AC9786) was on way to Sualkuchi from Chhaygaon. At Air Force Gate it collided head-on with a loaded truck (WB23C3551) going to Mirza at midnight. The groom, Rupdhan Kalita, and some of his colleagues were released after application of first aid at Azara PHC, while 12 others had to be admitted to the GMCH.
