2 ASTC staff relieved for not having requisite qualification

By our Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, Feb 19: Two ASTC employees – Tridip Deka and Hridip Deka, both trainee foemen – were relieved from their jobs for not having the required qualification for the posts. In an order issued yesterday, ASTC MD AP Tiwari said that the two had been appointed by the then ASTC MD Khagen Chetia during tenure of the Congress government in the State. The two working against the post of foremen without having the required qualification came to the fore during verification.  An inquiry committee has been instituted with ASTC MD’s technical adviser Ashif Ahmed. He has been requested to inquire to ascertain as to how the two officials had been appointed against the existing vacancies of foreman even though they did not have any automobile degree or diploma or any training from any institute of the state and the country. Ahmed has also been requested to submit the report within 30 days.
