AZARA, March 2: Two persons were killed on the spot and another was critically injured in two separate road accidents in the Azara area on Thursday. In the first accident on NH-37 at Hatkhowapara near Azara one Manjur Ahmed (60) died on the spot and Kulsum Bibi (40) sustained serious injury when they were hit by a Guwahati-bound white Bolero car at 7.40 am. Kulsum Bibi is battling for life at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). In another accident at 7.50 pm at Rani Gate near Azara one Mohan Boro, paddling a bicycle, was hit by an LPG-laden tanker killing him on the spot. According to eyewitness account, the tanker was at breakneck speed and it sparked when the brake was applied to stop it. Had the tanker been turned turtle, something catastrophic could have happened.
