20% seats of Kerala engineering institutes open for rest of India

GUWAHATI, June 14: Private engineering institutes located in Kerala were exclusively open for Keralites. However, from this year the institutes have opened 20 per cent of their seats for students of rest of India, opening opportunities for the students of Assam and other States of the region as well, along with rest of India.
Talking to newsmen in the city today, KSFECMA representative Engineer Sunil Dath said: “There’re as many as 117 engineering institutes in Kerala under the Kerala Self-Fincing Engineering College Magements’ Association (KSFECMA). Forty-three of these colleges opened 20 per cent of their seats for students of rest of India in various disciplines. This decision is beneficial for the students of Kerala and their counterparts from rest of India to develop their linguistic skill. The expenditure is much less in the colleges of Kerala when compared with colleges in other States in the tion. Moreover, the colleges in Kerala are frequently being visited by employers for campus placement fairs.”
