Talking to newsmen at Kamakhyadham atop Nilachal Hill in the city today, the Moharaj, who came to the city from Ujjain, said that they were going to take out a procession of ga Babas from Bhoothth to Kamakhya on June 21 in the city. The Moharaj is happy with the preparations for the Ambubachi Mela even as he feels that cleanliness is slightly lacking.

Congratulating Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal, the Moharaj said: “I appeal to the Chief Minister to pray to Goddess Kamakhya for the welfare of Assam. I’ve also prayed for the good health of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and condoled the death of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Anjan Dutta. I did meditate here in Assam in my childhood. I’ll keep coming to the Ambubachi Mela till my health permits me.”

Meanwhile, the preparations for the Ambubachi Mela at Kamakhya Temple are almost over. The Devalaya authorities have raised the number of CCTVs inside the temple complex to 150 from 127. VIP pass for visit to the shrine has been stopped from today, and such passes will not be issued till June 30. Ambubachi will start from 7.02 am on June 22 and end at 7.26 pm on June 25, during which the door of the temple will remain closed. The door of the temple will be opened for visitors in the morning of June 26.

It is worth mentioning here that the Devalaya authorities will look after everything inside the campus and the Kamrup (M) district administration is there to see everything outside the campus.
