3 gredes, explosives recovered near airport

MIRZA/GUWAHATI, August 13: Three hand gredes and a huge quantity of explosives were recovered by security personnel from Rani, barely two km from Lokpriya Gopith Bordoloi Intertion (LGBI) Airport, last night. The development in the run-up to the Independence Day that too near the airport, made many raise their eyebrows.

A team CRPF and police personnel were frisking vehicles and drivers in front of Pepsi factory at Rani last night. Two motorcycle-borne youths had to turn up when they saw the security personnel were in their routine checking, but while turning up they left behind a bag. The security personnel found the gredes and the explosives from the bag. They soon started a search operation to b the miscreants, but no arrest has been made so far.
