5 litterateurs feted

GUWAHATI, Nov 3: Five littérateurs of the state - Satyendra rayan Goswami, Khanindra Chandra th, Eli Ahmed, Basanta Kumar Bhuyan and Tapan Saraswati - were felicitated in a special programme at the ongoing 17th North East Book Fair in the city today.

As the chief guest at the book fair, State Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia said: "It is a good sign in the state that in the days of internet use and electronic books, the lover of hard copy books are also increasing day by day, and the felicitation of the litterateurs in the book fair will lay  more emphasis on this process." On the fifth day programme of the ongoing book fair today, the organizers felicitated the famous litterateurs of the state and also organized programmes like Hengulia Beli, a programme for the senior citizens, which was iugurated by singer Papon Mahanta. The organizers also conducted a programme on poems Padapathat Abelir Kobita today in the book fair.
