60 days of 90-day programme over

No-horn-please campaign

GUWAHATI, March 3: A walkathon on the occasion of Intertiol Women’s Day! Byatikram MASDO has successfully completed its sixty days of its ‘90-day No Horn Please campaign’. 

It was started on January 1, 2018. The entire campaign was flagged off on January 1, January 2018, from Raj Bhawan premises by State Governor Prof.  Jagdish Chandra Mukhi. The campaign was executed amidst busy roads and every nook and corner of the city with active participation from school students, staff of different hospitals, government officials and drivers. ‘No Horn Please’ was supported by Simanta Shekhar, Mukund Gupta, Sunita Deb, Ji Rajkumari, Babita Sharma. Axam Xahitya Xabha also came forward to help this project. 

Guwahati City Police has been an ardent supporters of the campaign. Guwahati Police Commissioner Hiren Chandra th, said: “This work was about to be done by our department. But now as you have taken this up, I convey my best wishes to Byatikram”. Dr. Saumen Bharatiya, president of Byatikram MASDO, said, “We’re very happy that the residents of Guwahati have happily supported our campaign. Everyone is concerned for noise pollution.” Bharatiya said that on March 8, 2018 is going to celebrate Intertiol Women’s Day by arranging a ‘walkathon’. Only women can participate in the walkathon which will be a part of 90-day campaign on “No Horn Please”. It will start at 7 in the morning from Lakhidhar Borah Khetra covering areas of Handique Girls’ College, High Court, Circuit House, Latashil, and end up in Dighalipukhuri.
