A brand of drinking water prohibited

GUWAHATI, July 5: The Assam Health and Family Welfare Department has prohibited the manufacture, storage, distribution and sale of Silver Drop Packaged Drinking Water manufactured by Silver Drops Foods and Beverages Pvt. Ltd. located at Amingaon on the outskirts of Guwahati with immediate effect for a period of 30 days. Nothing in this order will bar the manufacturer from producing packaged drinking water for the purpose of testing and alysis towards improvement during the period of prohibition, in the presence of the Food Safety Officer, a press release said.
The step was taken upon receipt of reports from the Food Alyst to the Assam Government, Referral Food Laboraty, Ghaziabad that this packaged drinking water does not conform the relevant sections of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
