AAMSA threatens to drag Dispur to court

GUWAHATI, Oct 3: The All Assam Madrassa Students’ Association (AAMSA) has threatened Dispur of dragging it to the court if the latter does not fill up the post of director and other top officials in the Directorate of Madrassa Education soon.

Addressing the press in the city on Tuesday, AAMSA president Baharul Islam and general secretary Jehirul Islam alleged that a blueprint was prepared for dissolution of the Directorate of Madrassa Education set up in 2005. Such a move, they said, is a conspiracy to nip the educatiol development of minorities in the State in its bud. They also threatened that the government that they would resort to democratic movements at various areas in the State in support of their demand.

The AAMSA leaders also said that the base year for NRC should be 1971 and citizenship certificates should be given to each and every Indian citizen to solve the problem of foreigners for once and for all.
