AASU stages protest Statewide

GUWAHATI, Jan 25: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) staged demonstration across Assam today against the failure of the State Government to supply of textbooks on time, and demanded supply of textbooks at the earliest.

AASU units of various districts, sub-divisions and regions staged demonstration in front of their respective district education officers, school inspectors offices and submitted demand letters to the Chief Minister and the Education Minister.

The State Government failed miserably in supplying textbooks to students. The students should have got the books on the very first day of the starting of the academic year. Negligence on the part of State Government towards government schools is clear as the students are deprived of textbooks even in the third week of the academic year. The apathetic attitude of of the State Government towards vercular schools will never be tolerated,” AASU preseident Dipanka Kumar th, general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi stated in a statement.
