AASU takes out bike rally against drugs

GUWAHATI, May 13: Members of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) today took out bike rally all over the State with the demand for making Assam free from drugs and exemplary punishment to those who are involved in supply of drugs. In a statement issued to the press today, AASU president Dipanko Kumar th and general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi said: “Drug paddling has engulfed the State with the Government and the administration not playing their role over the years. The public have been bbing drug peddlers and handing them over to the police. The students and youths of the State should be made free from this situation. Specific measures should be taken so that no impact of the situation is felt in educatiol institutions in the State. There should be toll-free numbers in all districts so as to let people inform the police when they see any drug addicts and peddlers.” The student body has submitted memoranda to the district and subdivisiol administrations. They said that they would not stop till the state is made free from drug mece.
