AASU to observe 91st birthday of maestro

GUWAHATI, Sept 5: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), with the help of its Kamrup and Guwahati units, is going to hold a programme – Uddipo – like every year on the occasion of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s 91st birth anniversary on September 8. The programme will be held near the statue of the cultural icon of the State at Dighalipukhuripar in the city. On that day, former GU vice chancellor Amarjyoti Choudhury would dedicate the second edition of his poem which he had written when the maestro had breathed his last in November 2011. Prof. Choudhury will himself recite the poem at the function.
