ABVP stages protest rally in city

GUWAHATI, Feb 23: Along with rest of the country, the state committee of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) took out a protest procession from Dighalipukhuripar to Diaghalipukuripar via Meghdoot Bhawan of the city today in support of their demand for punishment to the anti-tiol people who were involved in the JNU incident.

ABVP’s central secretary Srihari Borikar told the press today: “The anti-tiol incident of February 9 in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) was not happened for the first time in the university and the country. Such incidents are happening for many years. However, no action is taken against such elements. This time, the anti-tiol groups have crossed their limits and struck on the core issue of the tion. This is an anti-tiol step. The ISIS group even conducted ‘Thank JNU rally’ in Kashmir in utter disrespect to our tion. We, therefore, call all people of the country to conduct such tiol integration rally in every part of the country.”

State secretary Simanta Das said: “We all are Indians, united with the same bondage. However, some anti-tiol groups are trying to break our unity through such anti-tiol activities. Recently, in galand also some activities were conducted to disrespect our country. We, comprising over 300 students, took out this procession showcasing a 150 metre x 1.50 metre tiol Flag. We demand punishment to all anti-tiol groups headed by Left parties.”
