Academic endeavour towards peace and harmony brings Mridusmita Ph. D

GUWAHATI, April 18: Mridusmita Baruah’s research thesis – the ture of an Insurgency and the Resolution of its Problematic: A case Study of the Bodo Movement in Assam – has brought her Ph.D. She has been awarded Ph.D (Interdiscipliry and Transdiscipliry Studies) by Indira Gandhi tiol Open University, New Delhi for the above thesis. She carried out her research under the guidance of Prof. D. Gopal, Director, School of Social Sciences, IGNOU, New Delhi.  She is the youngest daughter of Girin Chandra Baruah, a former Additiol SP and Arati Baruah of Birubari, Nizarapar, Guwahati.
The author, a member of the majority community herself, has been bold enough to take up the issue and has gone about alysing the problem in a comprehensive manner and recommended adoption of the Gandhian principle of non-violent approach to address the same.
