Accident in city, woman injured

GUWAHATI, Nov 18: A woman, Zuma Dey (35), sustained injuries when the Scooty she was riding on was hit by an Army truck on the flyover at Athgaon in the city this afternoon. The local people admitted the woman to Marwari Maternity from where she was shifted to GNRC later. According to traffic police, the woman received injuries in her abdomen and face. The accident, according to eyewitness accounts, occurred when the woman was trying to overtake the truck, when it was on the flyover, from the Tokobari road. An irate local mob broke the windowpanes of the truck. The Bharalu police rushed to the spot, brought the situation under control and seized the truck.
